I'm not sure if I speak for a lot of people in the group, but when I think of Mississippi, I don't really have a clear image.
I think of the Mississippi river, southern cooking,...that's about all. New Orleans was the center of attention with Katrina and the rest of the gulf region draws a blank. I don't have friends or family in the area. I've never been there before.
Why are we going to Gulfport?
Because that's where we're needed.
I don't know much about where we're going, but that's good enough for now.

It takes selflessness and courage and "moxie" for you all to be there. I'm in a place and time where it is impossible for me to give the way you are doing right now. Be there as best as you can be, represent the people behind you that can't do what you are doing and do every little thing with an open hearttmt and open mind. Most of all, come home safely, with new friends, new perspectives and a feeling of wholeness in your heart. Thanks for being there...and say hi to Lisa!
Much love, Jody
